Architecture is the art and science of designing and erecting buildings. It is a vast subject, taking in planning, design, construction, materials, environment, landscape, and even furniture placement. Working adults can earn a degree in Architecture from an online college, university, or distance learning program without giving up current employment. Most Online Architecture degree programs are offered by accredited institutions. In most regions, an approved degree program is a requirement for licensure as an architect. However, for students interested in drafting, digital design or home design, careers in Architecture do not require a degree from an accredited Architecture program, in which case, a technical school or an art school education may be preferable. Architecture programs continue to require specialized training and internships outside the classroom. An internship can last three years. Online Architecture Schools provide degree programs and training in a variety of long-term or short-term career-focused subjects and career paths. There are five-year Bachelor or Master of Architecture degree programs, however, the four-year bachelor's degree program is a better choice for those exploring subjects of interest prior to pursuing graduate school for a Master's degree in Architecture. Becoming an architect consists of education, internship, and examinations, and requires dedication, creativity, orientation to detail, and resolution for completing projects.
